Originally, Ueno Park was a site in Toeizan Kanei-ji for the 3 brigadier army and Tokugawa Iemitsu in Edo to seal an unlucky quarter but the new government army became a burned field by attacking the former shogunate center army which shut in Kanei-ji up in the Boshin War.
