Gotokuji (Place of manekineko origination)

It is the temple of Soto Zen Buddhism which exists at Setagaya Ward Gotokuji. The address, too, is Gotokuji. As for the history, in the old days (civilization 12), Kira administration Tadashi was an aunt in 1480, the small hermitage which was reared for 弘徳院 which is the daughter of 頼高 was the beginning and at first, it belonged to Rinzai Zen Sect. After that, it transferred (Kanei 10) to Soto Zen Buddhism, Hikone feudal clan 2 charge seigneur and Ii direct Takashi established a temple as Ii's Edo family temple in 1633 and serviced it. Ii Naosuke (the Hikone feudal clan lord of castle) who was assassinated out of Bakumatsu, Edo-jo Sakuradamon is buried in this temple and the grave becomes a city specification historical site.
